Keith Farquhar

Farquhar uses paint on the body and creates these abstract images.

His choice of using naked male models as well as female is something very different compared to a lot of other art forms.
The female form has always been exposed and is something that everyone is used to seeing in art, TV and even newspapers. Due to the male figure being almost hidden from the public eye, it is sometimes seen as controversial when a naked male, or male genitalia is presented to an audience.

Using props along side the painted figure works well and adds more depth to the composition. The movement or act when using the various objects could be compared and represented in the movement and strokes within the paint itself.

Stratching the paint to remove layers adds a great effect which adds more movement and definition.
I could try similar techniques with my next experiment.
